Weeding | 除草
Weeding is the process through which we remove the weeds from our garden or plantation.
Actually, there isn’t a plant called “weed”. Every plant that needs to be removed because it grows wild where is not wanted, stealing nourishment from our cultivated plants, is referred to as weed.
「除草」は、庭や農園の雑草を取り除く作業です。本来、「雑草」という植物はありませんが、私たちが栽培している植物から養分を奪ってしまったり、陽当たりや風通しなどを妨げるところで繁殖してしまった植物は、ある程度取り除くことが必要になります。
When Sonia and Andrea visited us at Yakushima Senvus Village, they helped us by weeding the seedling pots one by one. These weeds take the water and nutrients from our plants, preventing them from growing strong. That’s why it is particularly important to weed the growing seedlings.
ソニアとアンドレアが屋久島センバスビレッジを訪れたとき、苗木ポットの中を一つずつ除草してくれました。雑草は苗木ポットの水分と栄養分を吸収して苗木の成長を妨げてしまうので、苗木ポットの除草はとても重要です。
In spite of the heat, they helped the seedlings regain energy with a smile on their face. ^^
暑い中でしたが、2人は笑顔で、苗木を元気にするのを手伝ってくれました。^^
