Volunteers from overseas | 外国人ボランティア
At Yakushima Senvus Village, for the past 4-5 years, we have been receiving volunteers from overseas.
For them, it is an opportunity to experience natural farming, practice the language and learn more about Japanese culture. They also interact with students of Yakushima Ohzora High School, help them practice English and share their culture and experiences with them.
For the students it is a great opportunity to learn more about different cultures and ways of thinking.
「屋久島センバスビレッジ」では、４～５年前から外国人ボランティアを受け入れています。
ボランティアたちにとって、完全無農薬の農業を体験し、日本語を練習し、日本文化を学ぶ機会にもなっています。
また、「屋久島おおぞら高等学校」では、生徒たちと交流して英語の練習を手伝ったり、彼らの文化や経験を生徒たちに共有したりしています。生徒たちにとっては、さまざまな文化や考え方を学ぶ絶好の機会です。
These exchanges allow volunteers to experience the culture from within, and connect with locals at a deeper level.
And they also get to enjoy Yakushima’s beautiful nature. ^^
これらの交流によって、ボランティアたちは日本の文化を内側から体験し、より深く地元の人々とつながることができます。また、屋久島の美しい自然も楽しむことができます。^^
Until March of 2020, we had received 83 volunteers from 30 different countries!
We hope the situation with coronavirus gets better, so we can meet more people to share our culture and learn more from their countries. ^^
2020年の3月までに、83人のボランティアを、30カ国から受け入れました！
新型コロナウイルスの状況が改善されて、もっとたくさんの人々と出会って私たちの文化を共有し、また彼らの国からより多くのことを学ぶことができるよう、願っています。^^
