“Tokei-sou”｜トケイソウ

It’s the time of year again when passion fruit flowers bloom.
今年もパッションフルーツの花が咲く季節になりました。

Passion fruit flowers are shaped like a clock, so it is called “Tokei-sou” in Japan.
※“Tokei” is clock, and ”Sou” is grass or flower.
パッションフルーツの花は時計のような形をしており、
日本では「トケイソウ」と呼ばれています。

At this time of year at Yakushima Senvus Village we help pollinate the passion fruits that are growing.
屋久島センバスビレッジでは、この時期になると、
栽培しているパッションフルーツの受粉のお手伝いをします。
