Tankan Cider
One of the citrus fruits grown in Yakushima is “Tankan” which is a natural hybrid between “Ponkan” and “Sweet orange”.
In Yakushima Senvus Village we grow the “Tankan”, and with the help of the Yakushima Ohzora High School students
and Volunteers we harvest them around February.
By extracting the juice of them, we make the “Yakushima Tankan Cider.”
A portion of sales from the “Yakushima Tankan Cider” is donated to the “Yakushima Mountain Conservation Fund”
which preserves Yakushima’s nature.
In Senvus House Scent Cafe, you can savor a refreshing “Tankan Cider” while enjoying the amazing view.
屋久島で栽培されている柑橘類の一つに、「ポンカン」と「スイートオレンジ」の自然交配でできた「タンカン」があります。
屋久島センバスビレッジでは完全無農薬で「タンカン」を育てており、屋久島おおぞら高校の生徒、ボランティアスタッフと共に、2月頃に収穫しています。
収穫した「タンカン」の一部を皮ごとしぼって作ったのが「屋久島たんかんサイダー」です。
「屋久島タンカンサイダー」の売上の一部を、屋久島の自然を守る「屋久島山岳部保全募金」に寄付しています。
センバスハウス香りカフェでは、絶景を楽しみながら、爽やかな「屋久島タンカンサイダー」を味わうことができます。
