Sennensugi | 千年杉
One of the many Yakusugi (Yakushima’s Japanese cedar tree) you can find at Yakusugi Land in Yakushima is the “Sennensugi (千年杉)”.
屋久島の「ヤクスギランド」にある、数多くの屋久杉のうちの一つが 「千年杉 」です。
Even though its name means “1000 years cedar tree” in Japanese, its age it is not certain.
名前は「1000年生きている杉」ですが、樹齢は確定されていません。
How many things has this tree lived through to be standing so tall and imposing today? It’s fun to try to imagine. ^^
この木は今日までどれだけのことを乗り越えて、今こうして堂々とそびえ立っているのだろう？ と想像すると、楽しいですね。^^
