On the way on the Shiratani Unsuikyo trail, immerse yourself in the magical forest that inspired the famous Studio Ghibli movie Princess Mononoke.
白谷雲水峡の遊歩道の途中では、スタジオジブリの有名な映画『もののけ姫』にインスピレーションを与えた、魔法の森に浸ってみましょう。

On a rainy day the mist of the clouds gives the forest an even more mysterious look. Even the moss appears to be greener and more vibrant.
雨の日には、雲の霧が森にいっそう神秘的な表情を与えます。苔の緑も、より鮮やかに見えます。

If you are lucky, you might be able to see some of Studio Ghibli’s mythical creatures.
運が良ければ、スタジオジブリの物語の中の生き物を見ることができるかもしれません。

When reaching the main part of the forest, you can see the head of the boar depicted at the beginning of the movie. On the right is his snout, and the branches coming out on the left of his head are what inspired the curse seen in the movie.
森の主要な部分に到着すると、映画の冒頭で描かれた、イノシシの頭が見えます。右側が鼻で、頭の左側から出ている枝が映画で見た呪いのモチーフです。

This forest is definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in Yakushima ^^
屋久島に行く機会があれば、この森を訪れてみることをお勧めします ^^
