Little friends

There are not only beautiful plants and trees in Yakushima Senvus village, there are also many kinds of insects and little animals.

One Workawayer from France really likes snakes and insects, so she took pictures of the ones she could find on Yakushima!

Insects are at the base of the food chain, so they are very important. 

Sadly, most species are endangered, which is why we try to protect them at Yakushima Senvus Village.

屋久島センバスビレッジには、美しい植物や木だけでなく、昆虫や小動物も沢山います。

フランスから来たボランティアスタッフは、蛇や昆虫が大好きで、屋久島で写真を撮っています。

蛇や昆虫が苦手でない方は、是非見てみて下さい。

昆虫は食物連鎖において、無くてはならない存在です。

残念ながら、多くの種が絶滅の危機に瀕しています。

私たちは、屋久島の陸上生態系の保護、回復にも目を向けて活動を行っています。
