Letters in Violet ｜ すみれ色の手紙

「屋久島センバスビレッジ」の園内や道端で、すみれの花を見かけるようになりました。
Violet flowers have started appearing along the paths and within the grounds of Yakushima Senvus Village.

とても小さな花ですが、鮮やかな紫色をしているので、歩いているだけですぐに見つけることができます。
These flowers are very small, but their vibrant purple color makes them easy to spot while walking.

すみれの花には食用になるものもあり、砂糖漬けにしてスイーツに乗せたり、サラダに散らしたり、私たちの食を彩ってくれます。
Some types of violets are edible and can be used to enhance our meals—whether by candying them for desserts or sprinkling them over salads.

日本では桜の開花前に咲き始めるため、最初の「春のたより」として知られています。
In Japan, violets bloom before the cherry blossoms, making them known as the first “letter of spring.”
