Karakuri Water Mill

One of the iconic views of Senvus Village is the Karakuri Water Mill, with the Mount Mochomu towering over it.

It was created by one of the few remaining Japanese watermill craftsmen, Hidehiro Nose, and it is a very large watermill with a diameter of 8m.

It performs threshing, rice polishing and flour milling.

The watermill helps us maintain the traditional process for making the ancient rice in an environmental-friendly way.

センバスビレッジを象徴する物の1つが「カラクリ水車」です。

水車の後ろには「モッチョム岳」がそびえています。

カラクリ水車は、数少ない日本の水車職人の一人である野瀬秀拓さんによって制作されました。

直径8ｍの、とても大きな水車です。

脱穀、精米、製粉を行います。

水車は、環境に優しい方法で、古代米を作るための伝統的なやり方を維持するのに役立ちます。
