Japanese tree frog | アマガエル
Did you know that Japanese tree frogs can be found all the way from Hokkaido to Yakushima in Japan?
日本では、「アマガエル」が北海道から屋久島まで生息しているのをご存じですか?
Our staff actually found one the other day at Yakushima Senvus Village! And you can usually hear them singing by the rice paddies.
先日、スタッフが「屋久島センバスビレッジ」で「アマガエル」を見つけました！
いつも田んぼのそばで鳴いているのを聞くことができます。
In Japanese, the word for frog is “kaeru”, which also means “return” or “come back”.
We hope this “kaeru” is a sign that we will be able to see the “return” of students and volunteers soon to Yakushima Senvus Village. ^^
この 「カエル」 が、生徒やボランティアの皆さんが、近いうちに屋久島センバスビレッジに 「帰る」ことができるしるしであることを願っています。^^
