57 years since Jomon Sugi was discovered | 縄文杉の発見から57年

Last month marked 57 years since the discovery of the Jomon Sugi, one of the thickest and most popular Yakusugi (cedar trees over 1000 years old native to Yakushima).
屋久杉（屋久島に自生している樹齢1000年以上の杉）の中でも最も太く、人気の高い「縄文杉」が発見されてから、先月で57年を迎えました。

Every year, ten thousands of people take part of an around 10-hour trekking to visit this famous tree. If you are one of those people interested in getting to Jomon Sugi this summer, we leave you Daisuke-san’s advice about what to wear for this occasion.
毎年、何万人もの人がこの名木を訪ねるために約10時間のトレッキングに参加します。この夏に、縄文杉を訪れたいと考えている方のために、”ダイスケ父さん”の服装をご紹介します。
